23 years as a certified Personal Trainer - REPs registered and registered nurse; I can help you start and keep exercising.  I work through my gym now in Rāumati (Aug 2024).  I have been a trainer at the Les Mills Gyms in Wellington for 15 years  As a Life Coach I will encourage, motivate and support you to create strategies to achieve your goals and have fun on the way.

My clients range from lifestyle clients, weight loss candidates, menopause, pre/post-cancer and pre/post surgery patients to sports people, adults and teenagers.

Nutrition

I am a certified body Revolution Trainer. Our belief is healthy kai plays a major part in our mental and physical well being.

We are what we eat and nourishing ourselves with whole foods helps balance and support our Te Whare Tapa Wha model for Māori health and wellbeing. That is all four pou: Taha Wairua (spiritual), Taha Tinana (physical), Taha hinengaro (mental) and Taha Whanau (family connection, eating together builds connection). The aim to learn strategies to keep your own mauri (life essence) balanced.

"You can't out-exercise a bad diet.  “Nutrition and exercise go hand in hand”. Food is 80% Exercise is 20%.  

I don’t believe faddish diets sustain weight loss but healthy, nutritious food together with regular exercise will.

You could be slowing yourself down and making it difficult to reach your full potential purely because

you are eating the wrong things. By making a few simple changes you will not only improve your health, but also look, feel and perform better.

Often weight loss and fitness is not achieved until the mental blockages are addressed, Life coaching will help identify and break down these blocks to ensure you achieve your goals. Some areas to work on are your "inner critic and self-limiting beliefs".

Simon Brown

 I enjoy playing tennis at a competitive level and fitness is a big factor, so I decided to try working with a personal trainer.  Julia made the sessions very enjoyable with a wide variety of exercises designed to improve my strength and movement.  I also learned some useful stretches to do before and after playing.  The sessions really helped to improve my fitness and I would certainly recommend Julia to anyone looking for an approachable trainer who can design a good programme for their individual goals.
